This Week in Disc Golf: Gannon Ties Ratings Record, Kristin Latt Speculation, and PDGA Europe’s 2027 Plans

Welcome back to This Week in Disc Golf, where we cover everything happening in the world of professional disc golf. From record-setting ratings to contract questions, international bids, and even some off-week social media highlights, here’s what went down.

Gannon Buhr Ties Ratings Record at 1062

The latest ratings update brought more than just chatter — it brought history. Gannon Buhr has achieved a 1062 PDGA rating, tying Paul McBeth’s all-time mark. Though Buhr made it clear he wanted to break the record, the milestone still cements his place at the pinnacle of the sport.

Buhr even called his shot after round three of the Great Lakes Open, knowing exactly what was needed to surpass Paul’s 1063. He got the win, not the record, but now shares the highest rating in history. With 15 rounds dropping soon — ones where he averaged 1067 — and several high-profile events left, the chase for 1063 is very much alive.

Kristin Latt’s Return Still Uncertain

Speculation around Kristin Latt’s 2025 season return continues. After choosing to DNF at Worlds, she hinted at targeting Throw Pink and the DGPT Championship. But fans noticed her name missing from the Throw Pink registration list — even though the event is less than a month away.

That said, she isn’t the only absent name. Ohn Scoggins, Ella Hanson, Catrina Allen, Emily Weatherman, Chandler Reigh, and Lisa Fajkus are also not registered. At the time of writing, only 39 of 56 qualified players have signed up.

Latt’s break has been quiet, outside of promotional posts and some play back home in Estonia. With her contract year at Latitude 64 and House of Discs winding down, questions linger: does she return this season? Does she switch sponsors? Or is a re-signing more likely?

PDGA Europe Pushes Toward 2027

PDGA Europe has been active on social media, posting everything from open positions to the 2027 European Major bid process. This comes off the momentum of what many called the best Worlds ever, at least in terms of infrastructure and attendance.

But questions remain with Jussi Meresmaa’s departure and uncertainty around the Beast and the European Open in Nokia. Some of Europe’s top courses — including those ranked in UDisc’s top 100 — are skipping the DGPT in 2026, possibly preparing their bids with upgrades.

Ricky Wysocki Hits Day 3000 Since Last Major Win

It’s been 3,000 days since Ricky Wysocki’s last major victory — more than eight years. On top of that, his streak of elite series wins is also in jeopardy, as he remains winless this season. Still, Wysocki has logged four podiums, three of them runner-ups, and sits high in DGPT standings despite nagging injuries and a bag change.

Quick Hitters and Social Media Moments

  • DGPT shop typo gave fans an accidental laugh with “Dicmania.”
